Striking gold owning a micro business in Nigeria.
Congratulations to Tobi Amusan for winning the gold medal in the world championships. A big honour for her and for Nigeria.
The dearth of jobs and little access to loans has forced many Nigerians into considering starting a micro business. Micro businesses can be started with very little capital. What is most required is passion and drive. There are cases where micro businesses have been started with just a smartphone and internet data.
Here is a tip to help you strike gold in micro business in Nigeria as you embark on your entrepreneurial journey.
Choose a niche
It does not matter what the niche is, almost all kinds of business can be profitable if you are serious and passionate about it. I will break down the niches into 3 categories.
· Production/manufacturing
· Sales
· Service
I understand that while doing business, these niches may overlap but the idea is to focus on your core niche and then outsource or collaborate with a partner on the complimenting niche.
The good thing about Nigeria is that there is always someone available to complement your business.
Do not be afraid to partner or collaborate no matter how micro your business is. You can always find a partner that fits your idea. If you are into production, you can always find a sales business to partner with or a service business such as a delivery company to partner with.
